1850-2024, atlas de la fonte des glaciers suisses is an editorial project combining scientific data and graphic design. Based on data from the Glacier Monitoring in Switzerland (GLAMOS), the book documents the melting of 43 Swiss glaciers, selected according to their importance. Each glacier sheet combines text, key figures, maps generated using QGIS, vector visualisations and satellite images. A colour photographic interlude taken at the Aletsch glacier and comparative statistical pages showing the differences in glacier size, altitude and melting rate give the book a breath of fresh air at the center of it. Printed in black, white and silver, the atlas is a tribute to glaciers and research, leaving the reader to make up his/her/their own mind about the importance of the subject.
